The short version: the app collects nothing. It has no accounts, no analytics
and no telemetry. Your hands, stats and study data live in files on your own computer and never
leave it. The app makes exactly one kind of network call — a launch-time check for a new
version, which two parts of the interface each request, so you may see more than one request for
the same static file — and that call sends none of your data.
1. The application
- No account is required or offered. We don't know who you are.
- No telemetry or analytics. The app does not track usage or send crash reports.
- Your data stays local. Session history, statistics, and settings are stored in standard application-data folders on your machine. Deleting the app's data folder deletes them. We never see them.
- One kind of network call: the update check. On launch the app requests a single static file, optimapoker.com/updates/latest.json, to learn whether a newer signed version exists. Two parts of the interface — the update banner and the version badge — each ask for it independently, so a packet capture will show more than one identical GET for that one file; nothing else is ever requested. The request contains no account, licence, device or installation identifier and none of your poker data — it is the same plain fetch your browser makes for any static page. Like any web request it necessarily reveals your IP address to the server delivering it (see section 2). If a new version exists, nothing downloads until you click the update button; if the request fails or you block it, the app carries on unaffected.
2. This website and the update endpoint
- The site is a static page with no cookies, no trackers, and no analytics scripts.
- The site and the update files are served by Cloudflare, whose infrastructure processes standard technical data (such as IP addresses) transiently to deliver them and protect against abuse, per Cloudflare's privacy policy. This applies equally to the app's update check, which is an ordinary request for a static file. We do not receive or store this information, and we run no analytics over it.
3. Email
If you email us, we'll have your email address and message; we use them only to reply, and we don't add you to any list.
4. Future changes
If we ever add features that process personal data (for example, license activation for paid plans — which would validate a license key and machine identifier), this policy will be updated first and the data collected will be the minimum required for the feature.
